Hits, orbits and the pointer

The rock reacts to every hit, a few pebbles stay in orbit and the pointer can move the rocks.

Three additions in the same session:

  • Hits: every fragment that lands pushes and tips the rock in proportion to the momentum it loses, and a damped spring brings it back. It is visual only: in the physics the rock stays fixed.
  • Orbits: four pebbles spiral in once every fragment has stuck and keep orbiting on ellipses. They started as computed orbits and then became Rapier bodies driven by their velocity, so they push each other and drift back to their lane.
  • Pointer: moving the mouse over the rock nudges it, with the same spring as the hits. Stuck fragments move a bit more than the rock.
